An interesting project.....

I am currently conducting a little experiment.
I am wondering if it is possible to get better type, posture & tanning on an otter rex.
On 21st March 2008 I mated my standard otter rex doe, 'Angel' to my Black & Tan Belgian Hare, 'Hartley'.

I don't have a photo of Angel, but this is Hartley. Hartley was sold in January 2009.
On 23rd April 2008 my first litter of 'Harexes' were born!

There were two does and one buck.
From this litter I retained one doe, 'Hermione'.

Here she is - photo taken 14th March 2009.

On 18th January 2009 I mated Hermione to Mars (pictured below).

On 19th February 2009, Hermione gave birth to a litter of eight babies.
Unfortunately one of the babies died at around two weeks of age.
Out of the remaining seven babies, two were rex coated and five were normal coated.
Here is a photo of the rex coated doe:

Photo taken 18th October 2009. She has much bigger ears and more powerful hind legs than a rex.
Her coat is not bad and her tanning is fantastoc.
